Residents at Magdalen Park have yet again had a busy month. On September 1st residents, family members, friends and staff celebrated Magdalen Park’s 3rd birthday by holding a “day at the movies” themed party . Staff dressed as movie characters and everyone enjoyed a buffet meal followed by some entertainment from Wilf and Chris . The day was finished off with the cake cutting and a glass of bucks fizz. A special thank you to Sarah, our receptionist, who made our birthday cake. During September we have also taken part in Hull’s memory walk, played against the other homes in the group at the Yorkare Homes Games (in which we came second), held a Macmillan coffee morning with cake bingo and had a visit from children who attend Butterflies Nursery in Hedon. As if this wasn’t tiring enough, to finish the month off we swam in a 2 hour nonstop Swimathon at the local leisure centre to raise money for our Residents’ Fund. Our team consisted of Steph our activity coordinator, Julie and Kirsty from our haven unit care team, Kerry our hairdresser, and Jo a family member’s daughter. A special thank you to Kerry’s daughter Maddison and Sophie who cheered us on from the side lines and counted our lengths which came to the grand total of 328 - well done everyone!
