Magdalen Scarecrows win a prize

In September, residents and staff joined in the Hedon Scarecrow Walk by making Magdalen Park one of the stops. Judges were greeted by a number of scarecrows – Farmer John at the entrance looking after his pigs and sheep, Rapunzel letting her hair down over the balcony, a carer taking a walk with a resident and a group of carers and residents having tea and a chat at the entrance.

Activities co-ordinator Steph Ashton said “within the home we love getting involved in the community activities. It was also a great opportunity for the residents to show off their artistic talents”.

In order to get all the scarecrows finished in time lots of residents’ friends and family members joined in scarecrow workshops and as the photos show, produced some impressive efforts!

We are delighted to announce that at the award ceremony Magdalen Park came in the top three so Steph along with one of our residents Doreen Barker collected the certificate on behalf of the home.
