Lindsey Hall

Lindsey Hall’s doors open!

A year after the build started transforming the old Lindsey Lower School, we were finally able to open the doors for a series of open days.

They started on 1st September with an evening of tours and reminiscence for pupils who attended both Lindsey Lower School and Cleethorpes Grammar School for Girls. Over 350 alumni and staff members attended for a tour, including Mr Barnsley whom the mock Guest House in the street scene will be named after. It was great to hear all the stories both about what the building was used for, and also the antics of everyone "back in the day". People could not believe the transformation and enjoyed having a drink at the end of the tour in the home's pub “The Old School Inn” – which used to be the school gym.

The following three days were then open for the general public. The response was fantastic with over 2000 walking through the doors. Everything from the decor, size of the rooms and little details, especially the street scene and adjoining arcade, were all highly praised.

The open days have featured prominently in the local press, with Grimsby Telegraph running a four page spread and a video by Radio Humberside of a "sneak peak" on social media hitting over 82,000 views!

If you were not able to attend the open days over the weekend but would like to make an appointment, please ring the home on 01472 806333.

With nearly one in three women experiencing domestic abuse, we chose to support Horsforth Women’s Refuge, helping women…
