As the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in the UK is growing, we have implemented a number of actions across our group so that we remain virus free. At this stage we have tried to balance the safety of our residents whilst maintaining a happy and positive lifestyle.
Family members, residents and staff have been provided with weekly updates about the virus, our actions and contingency plans, whilst we have monitored the advice from Public Health England and the Department of Health and Social Care.
At this time, we have asked family members to reduce their visiting, increased alcohol gel dispensers at the entrances, cancelled all non-essential meetings, stopped group training and certain activities.
To support residents and family members keeping in contact with each other we have set up a Skype account at each Home and encouraged family and friends to do the same. This will allow our residents to maintain their social connections whilst they have less visitors.
We would like to reassure relatives and friends of our residents we have plans in place if the number of cases increases in the local area to our Homes, such as implementing restricted or no visiting (unless a loved one was receiving end of life care), safely accepting hospital discharges, how deliveries would be made and reduced staffing levels.
If you are a resident or family member and have some concerns please do not hesitate in contacting your Home manager.
