Coronavirus Update – Staying Positive!

We made the decision to close our doors temporarily nearly two weeks ago, whilst we could assess the situation during this outbreak and this, unfortunately, was made a longer term measure after the recent government guidance. Whilst this has been a worrying time for residents, staff and families we have been amazed by the positivity and support shown by all across the group.

Our contingency plans have been actioned and we have recruited an extra 10% of experienced care staff onto our workforce, to be able to cope with the potential sickness in our staff teams. Any staff members who have to self isolate, because they or their families have possible symptoms, are being supported with a care package from the company delivered to their door, including groceries and essential household items (plus a few treats!).

We have increased social activities and staff are taking their coffee breaks with residents to prevent any feelings of separation from families. The teams have also held many video calls and sent pictures and video messages to reassure our families that they are safe and well. Please see the pictures below as some examples of what our residents have been up to.

Mother’s Day was a fantastic day across the group, with the staff going the extra mile to make sure all of our residents felt loved. Cards and presents were given out from families, flowers provided from staff to residents and even the staff got cards from residents at Westfield Park!

Finally, we just want to say a massive thank you to our amazing staff who have stayed so positive throughout and are keeping our residents spirits up with their amazing attitudes and kindness. Well done!
