Reconnecting Families

Our visiting rooms have continued to be a fantastic boost for both our residents and families over this last week, and have gained the nations attention with coverage on the BBC, Sky News, Daily Mirror and Daily Express.

One of the visits included Richard and his daughter Isla visiting his grandmother Jean at Beverley Parklands. They used to see each other every week before lockdown so Jean was very excited when they surprised her by arranging a visit.

Richard said “Nana was holding the glass to touch Isla’s hands, Isla was laughing and waving and playing peekaboo with her dress, it was so moving. Our visits reducing to nothing was heartbreaking, I have really felt the loss of her. The fact we can come and see her means so much”

All of the Care Homes in the group will have a dedicated visiting room, which are completely safe for residents and staff. These are ground floor bedrooms which have been split into two rooms with an airtight Perspex divide, intercom system, and an external door out. All precautions have been taken to make the rooms as safe as possible for visitors too.

Other visitors in the pictures below include resident Ted being reunited with his daughters dog Ted, Enid being reunited with her daughter Sue and Jean reuniting with her partner Terry.
