Coronavirus Update – Visiting and Vaccines!

Residents across the Yorkare Homes group are delighted, as the roll out of the 2nd dose of the Coronavirus vaccine is well underway and family visiting has started!

Recently a team from Bartholomew Medical Practice visited Westfield Park, our Home in Goole, to administer the 2nd dose of the vaccinations to both the residents and staff. Residents Beryl and Tom were very happy to receive theirs. Tom stated ‘I feel marvellously well since receiving the vaccine. It was well organised and the people from the GP surgery were very kind. It means the world to me that I can now hold my daughters hand in our visit this week.’  Beryl stated ‘I feel very glad to have received the vaccine, it’s very comforting and I feel safer. I feel cautious about seeing my family but I cannot wait and I am looking forward to it. I feel the Westfield Park staff have been amazing throughout the pandemic and I feel very fortunate and lucky to be living here.’

Visitors have been welcomed back across the group and one of the first visitors at Westfield Park was Joyce McNamee, who visited her mother Elsie. Joyce said ‘It’s so lovely to be back inside visiting and holding my lovely mums hand!’

Mandy Thompson, Registered Manager at Westfield Park, said ‘We are all delighted the residents and team have received the second vaccination. The team have been brilliant this last year, and the residents so patient and positive. To get to this point is fantastic, and this will now lead to life returning back to normal. We were all very excited to start welcoming back internal visitors and we now look forward to using our minibus for trips out again in April.’
