The Circuit – the national defibrillator network – provides a national overview of where defibrillators can be found for easy access in emergencies.
Yorkare Homes know that by not having these readily available in the events of an emergency or by not having these registered can cost lives and that’s why supporting this new infrastructure is so vital, and they want to be able support each of their local communities.
Yorkare Homes decided to purchase defibrillators for each of their current 6 homes within the group at the request of their staff who listed them as a wish for their homes. Staff felt they could be used for any person in the home; residents, staff, or visitors in the event of a collapse that resulted in someone’s heart stopping.
Sue Rollinson Clinical Lead for the Yorkare group added “Having now registered all their defibs with “The Circuit” this now also connects ours to all NHS ambulance services across the UK and each of their local areas so that in those crucial moments after a cardiac arrest, they can be accessed quickly to help save lives. These are all now installed and in place within each of our care homes, and staff feel reassured that they now have the necessary equipment to give someone an improved chance of surviving a collapse and cardiac event”.
