Charlie’s Visit

Last week one of our resident’s, Charlie, had a very special visit from former Hull Kingston Rover’s player, Ben Cockayne. As a life long supporter of the rugby club Charlie was over the moon to hear he would be visited by the club’s former full back.

Thanks to an employee’s relative, who has close ties with the East Hull rugby team, it was arranged that the rugby ace would join Charlie at Magdalen Park for a cup of tea and a chat. It was made extra special with Ben brought along a Rover’s shirt which he gifted to Charlie.

Our staff member, Laura, said she “hasn’t seen Charlie this up beat in a long time, he had a great day and Ben has even promised a return visit in which he will join Charlie to watch a rugby match!”

Although Cockayne fulfilled his time on the Rover pitch at the end of the last season, he still holds an off-field role at HKR and remains close to Hull soil, we hope this could be the start of a new friendship between the pair and look forward to Ben’s next visit.
