Christmas at Magdalen Park

We have had a lovely time at Magdalen Park celebrating Christmas and seeing the New Year in. A group of residents went to Sandhills, the local garden centre, to watch a flower arranging demonstration, a cake decorating demonstration and a performance by a Royal Accordion society. We have also had visits from Gillshill Primary, Hedon Primary, Inman’s Primary and Hedon Methodist youth club who entertained us with carols and other festive songs.

You may have noticed different flower arrangements in the home over Christmas. These were made by a couple of our residents with the help of a florist from a local shop. Of course we also had a couple of mulled wine and mince pie afternoons – obligatory for every festive season!

We celebrated New Year with a party where we held our Star Awards – the winners getting a certificate and little cup. The winners included George and Dorothy who received the prize for “best pet sitter” for looking after Maggie and Bob and Dorothy won domino king and queen respectively. We then toasted the New Year with a glass of bubbly and listened to entertainment from Steve Ellis.

We wish all of you a Happy New Year from everyone at Magdalen Park.
