Christmas at Westfield 2018

It has been a busy festive period for us all at Westfield Park with outside entertainment coming into the home to perform for us and also various trips out. We had our Nurse Sue Buckby and the choir that she sings with start off the festive season with Carols and mince pies around the Christmas tree on 1st December. We then had an outing to Gilberdyke garden centre for lunch and to enjoy the Christmas lights and decorations on 6th December. On the 7th December staff joined in with Elf day for Alzheimer’s to raise money for this worthy cause. Then on the 8th December we had the Christmas fayre on Nursing unit. On the 15th December we had the Christmas fayre on the Haven unit. Both fayres together were a great fundraiser and we managed to raise our total in the residents fund to over a thousand pounds.

We had a local Duo called “ SHINE “ in to perform for us on the Haven unit and a group of Nursery children came in to sing some Christmas songs with actions that they had learnt. The residents then handed out selection boxes to them as a thankyou gift for coming to us.

As you can imagine this was an enjoyable time had by all.
