Horses visit Magdalen

The residents at Magdalen Park have recently had some special visitors. A group of 9 horses from Totley’s equestrian came to visit the home. Residents, family members, friends and staff all had the chance to give the horses a stroke while some of the residents’ grandchildren even had a little ride on a horse. Steph Ashton activity coordinator said “it was lovely to see so many people enjoying the horses I’m glad we could make it happen” and one resident said “it was brilliant, I gave the horses some biscuits”.

Luckily the weather was nice so we could all sit and watch while the horses trotted around the field next to the home. This led to lots of reminiscing about horse riding when residents and family members were younger.

We would like to say a big thankyou to our staff member Charlotte who when asked if she could bring her horse in managed to arrange the group form Totley’s equestrian, where she is a member, to come and pay us a visit.
