Katie’s Wish – A trip to the circus

Westfield Park Nursing Home is proud to announce our new “Make a Wish” scheme. This gives residents the opportunity to let us know what they would really like to do, which we will then try and make come true.

Our first resident has already had a wish come true. Katie Coates had always enjoyed going to the circus when she was younger but hadn’t been for years. So one of the carers Laura and the activities co-ordinators got to work and arranged for a trip for Katie and other residents to enjoy. Once they got to the circus everyone enjoyed a picnic before going to watch the show. Acts included death defying axe and knife throwers as well as Europe’s youngest stunt rider. It was a truly exciting day and one which everyone enjoyed. Katie was amazed by the all the acrobatics and had a “wonderful day joining in with all the clapping and singing”.

We would like to thank Mike Gower (resident at Magdalen Park Nursing Home) for designing our “Make a Wish” logo. We will be updating news about everyone who has had a wish come true so please pop back to see what residents have been up to.

If you have any ideas for a loved one, please contact a member of the activities team or the Managers who will try and make it a reality. It may be as simple as fish and chips on the beach or visiting their old school – please just let us know!
