Who says you need to head to the races to enjoy all the glitz and glamour of Ladies Day?
To coincide with Ladies Day at Beverley Races, Cottingham Manor Care Home brought the sparkle, style, and spirit of the races right to our residents – and what a truly fabulous afternoon it was!
Everyone dressed to impress in their finest dresses, hats, and fascinators, ready for a day filled with smiles, laughter, and a touch of racing magic. Afternoon tea and fizz set the scene perfectly, before prizes were awarded for Best Hat and Best Dressed.

One of the highlights of the day was a very special visit from Grace and her horse Rosie, who trotted up to the home so residents could take photos, pet Rosie, and share in the excitement of race day without leaving their doorstep.
The celebrations continued with fantastic live entertainment from guest singer Wilf, whose performance had everyone clapping, singing, and smiling.
Joanne Golden, Activities Lead at Cottingham Manor, said:
“We couldn’t take the residents to Beverley Races, so we brought the races to them! The afternoon was full of glitz and glamour and brought so much joy to all our residents. It really did bring our residents, families, and community together for a fabulous afternoon.”
