Making wishes come true

After the successful introduction at Westfield Park, Magdalen Park Nursing Home is proud to announce our new “Make a Wish” scheme. This gives residents the opportunity to let us know what they would really like to do, which we will then try and make come true.

We have already made two wishes come true. Rose Hicks chose to visit the theatre to watch their production of White Christmas. A group of residents went along with Rose, thoroughly enjoying the show and ice-cream at half time. It was made extra special when the residents left the theatre to see the snow begin to lightly fall which really helped everyone to get into the mood for Christmas!

The second wish was for Margaret Lawson who wanted to go to the garden centre as she had heard it was “magical at Christmas time”. As a committee member of the gardening club, Margaret was very interested to see what it was like compared to other visits throughout the year! Again, a group of residents went with Margaret to have a look round and they all really enjoyed themselves.

We would like to thank Mike Gower for designing our “Make a Wish” logo. We will be updating news about everyone who has had a wish come true so please pop back to see what residents have been up to.

If you have any ideas for a loved one, please contact a member of the activities team or the Managers who will try and make it a reality. It may be as simple as fish and chips on the beach or visiting their old school – please just let us know!
