Westfield Park was the place to be during the Christmas season. We enjoyed many outings throughout December. These included trips to the local winter wonderland at Gilberdyke garden centre and Langland’s garden centre. The residents enjoyed a full Christmas dinner and had the chance to do some Christmas shopping while surrounded by the beautiful lights, sights and sounds of Christmas. The weather also helped us get into the Christmas spirit as we enjoyed snowfall on our journey there. We also enjoyed trips out to our local entertainments venue, The Junction Goole, where we attended a dementia friendly screening of a White Christmas as well as a fantastic pantomime.

During the festive season we were lucky enough to have several organised groups come and visit us in our home. These included choirs, singers and even a 24 piece ukulele band. We enjoyed plenty of Christmas activities too, we had such fun making our own Christmas wreaths, flower arranging and decorating our home from top to bottom.

With the help of all the staff and residents we also held two Christmas fayres where we had games, stalls and a very popular raffle. We were joined by many members of our community as well as family and friends of all our residents. We also enjoyed hosting both Christmas and new year parties.

Christmas at Westfield Park was a fun and exciting time for everyone and we look forward to many more fun activities and outings throughout 2018.
