Beverley Parklands

Spring at Beverley Parklands

At the end of April as part of our Make A Wish project we took one of our residents for a tour of the local cinema, going behind the scenes to look at how things are done today as opposed to how it was done in the 1950's when he worked as a Projectionist at the Pocklington and Driffield cinema. He thorougly enjoyed his day and a scrap book has been created so that he can reminisce about the day and how things used to be.

On May 5th we held a charity Race Night to help raise funds for a Tovertafel active cues table  (The magic table for dementia residents), the evening included a Best Dressed Competition, Tombola, Name the Horse and your chance to be a race horse owner for the evening. Staff put their glad ragss on for the evening and a good night was had by all. We would like to thank all our sponsors for their generous contributions and family and friends who attended.

To continue with the race theme our residents were invited to a Bygone Beverley Race day were the residents were well looked after being served tea / coffee and cakes and having the chance to have a little flutter on the races.

With the sun finally coming out our residents have used the bowling green for the first time this year, there was a good turn out for this with plenty of competative matches taking place.
