Everyone at Magdalen Park has had a fun filled summer so far. In June we entered Hedon open gardens and scarecrow walk, residents, staff and volunteers spent weeks preparing the gardens and the scarecrows. During the weekend everyone enjoyed showing off our gardens and scarecrows to visitors. We are pleased to announce that we came 1st in the care home category for our scarecrow! This was an amazing achievement for all involved and a testament to all the hard work everyone put in.  We also helped Hedon library with their scarecrow entry in the adult group category which also won 1st prize. Well done to everyone involved.

Our flower arranging group entered the local Roos show . Their success from previous years continued and Sylvia, Margaret and Sue all won a place in their category.

Other activities this summer have included trips out to the local pub and Sewerby Hall and Gardens. The residents recently took part in a sports day which was held inside the building due to the typical British weather. Everyone took part in games which included egg and spoon race, welly toss and ring toss .

The highlight of everyone's summer at Magdalen Park is the summer fayre. This year we had a beach theme with a giant deck chair and mini beach hook a duck. The event raised £424 for the Residents' Fund so a big thank you to everyone who came and supported the event.
