At Yorkare Homes we aim for our residents to enjoy this chapter of their lives in a safe and luxurious environment, whilst being offered a varied and engaging range of social activities. Every Yorkare Homes care home has a dedicated activities team, who provide a varied and engaging activity program. Activities include dancing, board games, dominoes, guest musicians and church services. We also organise regular outings to places such as the theatre, cinema and seaside. All of our homes also have gardening areas and potting sheds, where green-fingered residents can help tend the greenhouses and vegetable gardens.
Each care home employs their own hair and beauty professional, who run their fully equipped hair and beauty salon. The facilities are also free to use if residents wish to keep their own mobile hairdresser, or if a friend or family member wishes to use the salon with a resident during a visit. Therefore residents can be assured of always looking their best for those important events.
We provide nutritious and balanced home cooked seasonal menus, created with our residents, and our dining areas are homely yet sophisticated. We make sure that we cater to individual dietary needs and recognise personal preferences. All of our homes each have a resident’s pub or bar, which are fully licensed and stock a selection of wines, beers and spirits for residents and their visitors to enjoy.
Our Homes are tastefully decorated and furnished, including a range of different social spaces which our residents can enjoy. These include quiet library lounges with large fireplaces, cocktail bars for socialising and cinema rooms to watch an old classic. Bedrooms are available in a range of sizes and all have an ensuite. Larger premium single bedrooms and premium suites are available for individuals or couples.
If a resident ever requires physiotherapy, whether it’s recommended by a GP or if somebody just wishes to improve their mobility, we can introduce our residents to Kevin Allen from East Riding Physiotherapy. Kevin has won awards for his work with people who live with conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease, and is also a Dementia Specialist Physiotherapist. As a private physio Kevin can see residents much quicker than waiting for an NHS referral.
